Catholic Campaign for Human Development

Catholic Campaign for Human Development
This term designates the program established by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in 1969, as the Catholic Church's domestic antipoverty program for the dual purpose of (1) supporting groups in their efforts to develop economically and politically, and (2) educating people about today's social problems in order to develop a sense of solidarity. This campaign is supported by an annual collection in local parishes throughout the United States.
